Respite care ideas for summertime

Summer has officially arrived, and some parts of the U.S. are already experiencing heat waves. If you normally enjoy respite care in the great outdoors, you may want to try indoor alternatives when temperatures rise to unsafe levels.

Here are some ideal respite care products that can help you relax and recharge this summer:

Bath products: One of the easiest ways to unwind is by enjoying a relaxing bath or shower. This Blue Lagoon body scrub makes one feel like they are on an island vacation. I'm a big fan of shower steamers. Just drop a tablet in the shower and enjoy the instant aromatherapy experience while you take a cool shower on a hot summer day. I enjoy these shower bombs that are infused with soothing natural scents like lavender and chamomile.

Face masks can help one feel refreshed without the expense of going to a spa.

If you are really short on self-care time, try a facial spray to rejuvenate oneself on those long, hot summer days.

Outdoor relaxation: Walking is my go-to respite. It's difficult to do when there's a heat wave, but a neck fan may offer the cool breeze that you need to still enjoy the great outdoors during the summer.

If you are looking to stay cool while enjoying your backyard, consider this outdoor misting system. Don't forget to protect yourself from harmful sun rays, a patio umbrella can make your outdoor space an inviting respite.

Don't have time to enjoy respite at the beach or community pool? You can set up this inflatable pool in your backyard for a refreshing respite any time of the day.
